Wilburn Henry Bill Bohne, 79, of Brenham, passed away December 14, 2010 in Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple from esophageal cancer surgery complications. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery in Sandy Hill. Pastor Virgil Pecht will officiate at the graveside. Those attending are invited to the parish hall at St. Matthew s Lutheran Church following interment for refreshments. Serving as pallbearers are Mike Wehring, Clint Boriack, Derrick Kenjura, Christopher Kenjura, James Kenjura, and Jim Rothermel. Honorary pallbearers are his cousins, Elwood and Eloise Wehring, Glenn and Kathy Wehring, Lonnie and Eleanor Tiemann, Gerald Weghorst, Sigmund Ellermann, and Harry Heckmann. Bill was born in Brenham on April 20, 1931 to Willie C. and Minnie Lehde Bohne. Baptized and confirmed in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, he attended Brenham High school and then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, serving from 1948 to 1953 at several bases in the United States and overseas in Casablanca, French Morocco. After military service, he attended The University of Texas at Austin, obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His employment thereafter was with engineering firms in Dallas and Houston in the oil and gas industry engaged in seismic exploration and design of oil field related equipment. He had the opportunity to travel in the U. S., including Alaska, and retired in 1981 to his home on Lake Livingston, moving back to Brenham in 1993. Bill is survived by his sister, Irene Bohne Schroeder and numerous cousins and family members.
