Wilburn "Snooky" Dickerson, 83, of Brenham, died Monday, July 20, 2009, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Mr. Dickerson was born August 26, 1925, in Brenham, Texas, to Leroy and Irene Helen Lands Dickerson. He attended Brenham schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On June 6, 1953, he was married to Dorothy Neinast in Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham. Mr. Dickerson was a retired loom fixer at Brentex Mills. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dickerson of Brenham; sons, Robert Dickerson, Donald Dickerson and Mark Dickerson, all of Brenham; aunt, Mary Dean Lands of Bryan; brother-in-law, Bill Robbins of Brenham; special cousin, Nancy Linn Clark of Rockdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Marlin Pace officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Memorials may be directed to Cornerstone Church. "I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course.
