Funeral services for Wilfred Charles Hohlt, the husband of Dorothy Drews Hohlt, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville, with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Hohlt passed away April 30, 2015 in Brenham, at the age of 81. He was born June 16, 1933 in Washington Co. to Fred Wilhelm Charles and Selma Schroeder Hohlt. He was baptized Aug. 2, 1933 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor P. Gogolin, and confirmed Aug. 3, 1947 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Gay Hill by Pastor Wm. Feller. On Oct. 12, 1958, he was married to Dorothy Drews by Pastor R. J. Weber at Zion Lutheran Church. A member of Zion Lutheran Church, he served as Sunday School Superintendent, and taught Sunday School for many years. Other memberships included the Lutheran Brotherhood and the Bluebonnet Club. Mr. Hohlt was employed for over 30 years as a postal worker for the U. S. Postal Service, and made many lifelong friends among his co-workers and customers along his mail route. He remained a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees until his death. Following his retirement, he operated a small appliance and vacuum cleaner business at his residence, serving many customers over the years. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hohlt of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Sheri Hohlt of Burton; daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Tony Lynn of Springfield, MO., and Carol and Rickey Gaskamp of Brenham; grandchildren: Josh and Brook Gaskamp, J. T. and Chelsea Gaskamp, Mallorie Hohlt, Maci Hohlt, Katie Lynn, and Torie Lynn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Milton and Elvera Drews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Weldon and Marjorie Krinke, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law Willie and Mollie Drews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Lee Roy and Joyce Drews, and Willie Jr. and Alvira Drews. Pallbearers are Josh Gaskamp, J. T. Gaskamp, Gary Krinke, Craig Blum, Paul Cmajdalka and Jerry Kieke. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville.
