William Boyd Draehn, 48, of Brenham, died April 16, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. William was born October 21, 1957, in Brenham, Texas, to Willie Jr. and Marjorie Meyer Draehn. He was baptized Oct. 26, 1957 in St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham by Rev. Charles Weisnerowski and was confirmed May 16, 1971, in the same church by Bishop Louis J. Reicher. He attended St. Mary s Catholic School, Brenham Junior High School and Brenham High School. William was a member of St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker for many years and was most recently employed at Tarlton Supply and Sealy Mattress. He was a collector of many things, including Coca-Cola memorabilia, stamps, trains, movies, board games, puzzles and Dallas and Southfork memorabilia. He had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephew, who affectionately called him Uncle Wee. Survivors include his parents, Willie Jr. and Marjorie Draehn of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Melissa Draehn of Brenham; sister and brother-in-law, LaFayne and Robert McCall of McKinney; and special nieces and nephews, Kourtney Draehn and Mitchell Draehn, both of Brenham, and Hannah Littleton and Sarah Littleton, both of McKinney. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Selma Draehn, Glenn and Odelia Meyer; and uncles, Donald Butch Broecker and Alvin Jimmy Draehn. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19 at St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham, with Rev. David Ivey, celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Mark Schubert, Roy Kokemoor, Ray Rodenbeck, Steve Littleton, Ben Seeker, Bob Handley, Robert McCall and Brad Beach. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Tarlton Supply and Sealy Mattress and his cousins. Memorials may be given to St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
