Funeral services for William Henry Eberhardt, 54, of Brenham, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton, with Pastors Glen Schoeneberg and Judy Shermann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. William will lie in state at Memorial Oaks Chapel until 1 p.m. Tuesday, after which he will be in state at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton, where the family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. William passed away November 17, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Brenham on June 4, 1958 to Erwin Willie and Dorothy Mae Hodde Eberhardt. He was baptized in St. John United Church of Christ by Pastor Jewel Johnson, and later confirmed in the same church by Pastor Paul Otte. William continued to be a lifelong member there. A graduate of Burton High School, he was later employed by Blue Bell in the production department, where he was known as a dedicated worker during his 32 years of employment there. A kind-hearted and giving person, he treasured spending time with family and friends. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Walker Eberhardt of Brenham; mother, Dorothy Eberhardt, and sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Bob Whitener, all of Burton. Also surviving are nephews Jared Whitener, and Kyle Whitener and wife Brianna, as well as numerous cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Erwin W. Eberhardt, and grandparents, Willie and Minnie Eberhardt, and Henry and Annie Hodde. Serving as pallbearers are Gary Herr, Gary Foster, Erich Glenewinkel, Charles Hodde, Timothy Eberhardt, and Mark Hundemer. Honorary pallbearers are his fellow employees at Blue Bell. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley or to St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton.
