William Hill

William Ray Hill, 87, of Bellville, died June 24, 2017, at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30 at Bellville United Methodist Church with Dale Chance and Amy Haralson officiating. Visitation with the family will be Sunday at the church from 1:30 p.m. until service time and following the service.

Mr. Hill was born June 1, 1930, in Centerville, Texas, to Fred Wilburn and Florris Mills Hill. On July 4, 1952, he was married to Mabel Landua Hill.

Serving his country in the U.S. Army, Mr. Hill was stationed at Ft. Bliss during the Korean War. He then began a long career in public education where he was a coach, teacher, counselor and vocational director. He was employed over 40 years with the Nederland Independent School District. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, caring for his roses, and playing golf . He played football at Blinn, was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Longhorns, and above all, the Nederland Bulldogs. Music was also an important part of his life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nederland and later in Bellville serving those churches in many capacities.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Lyn and Rickey Moye of Broaddus, Rebecca and Vince Trahan of Bellville, Rachel and Keith Wall of Spring and Susan and Brian Wenberg of Belton; grandchildren, B.J. and Arlene Moye, Julie and Kyle White, Jake and Stacy Moye, Jeff and Jenny Trahan, Justin and Bina Trahan, Bevin and Phillip Noack, Austin Trahan, Kathleen Wall, Sarah Wall, Jack Wenberg and Cade Wenberg; great-grandchildren, Vivian Moye, Lilla Moye, Luke Moye, Grace Moye, Hudson White, Lucas Trahan, Benjamin Trahan and Aryeh Trahan; sister and brother-in-law Anita and Benny Boles of Center; sister -in-law Blanche Seidel of Brenham; several nieces , nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, his parents , and brothers Fred Allen and Forrest Dean Hill.
