Willie Reeves

Funeral services for Willie Mae Reeves, 88, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor David Hansen will officiate. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Willie Mae Reeves, the widow of Johnnie C. Reeves, passed away August 30, 2011 in Katy. She was born Sept. 21, 1922 in Brenham to Richard and Ida Schramme Herzog. Baptized October 29, 1922 in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. She was confirmed there May 9, 1937. On September 4, 1949, she married Johnnie C. Reeves, also in St. John Lutheran of Prairie Hill, where she remained a member until her death. Willie Mae worked as a beautician. Survivors include son Rickie Reeves of Somerville; daughter and son-in-law Sherri and Neal Holden of Sealy; step-son Johnnie Wayne McClendon; grandchildren: Brittnay Shaw and husband, Adam; Samantha Hopkins Reeves, and Jessica Reeves; great-grandchildren: Presley Shaw, Mariah, Makayla, Michael, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband, parents, and brother, Leroy Herzog, preceded her in death. Serving as pallbearers are Mark Herzog, Donnie Gilley, Adam Shaw, Trace Fricke, and Billy Joe Marshall.
