Willie Wernecke

Willie Lee Wernecke, 76 of Chappell Hill died April 11, 2010 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1933 in Pledger, TX to Robert & Carrie Clifton Truitt. Willie was a graduate of West Columbia High School and later that year on November 4, 1951 she married Harry Walter Wernecke in Houston, TX. A favorite pastime was fishing, and she also enjoyed canning jelly for her family. Willie worked for Germania Insurance Company as a customer service representative, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. Survivors include her husband, Harry Wernecke of Chappell Hill; daughters & sons-in-law, Connie & Jerome Kmiec, Diana & Johnny Kubeczka all of Chappell Hill; brothers, Hillary Truitt of Thornton, Billy Truitt of Tomball, Jake Truitt of Brazoria, Percy Truitt of West Columbia; sisters, Clarice Harlan and Georgia Franklin, both of Brazoria, Mary Hockett of Mineola; grandchildren, Phillip & Sarah Kubeczka, Paul & Joyce Kubeczka, Teresa Kmiec, Sarah Kmiec, Rebecca & Steven Smith; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Rhett Kubeczka, Mason and Carson Melead, Addison Smith, Gemini and William Kubeczka, and a special family friend, Mandy Landry, and numerous other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters-in-law. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. At the family''s request, memorials may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley or to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville.
