Zachary Thomas Gore, 34 of Brenham passed away February 9, 2025 in Hallettsville, Texas.
Zachary was born May 25, 1990, in El Paso, Texas to Thomas and Frances Ahrens Gore. He completed the ‘Gore Boys' along with his big brothers Kristopher and Jason. When Zach was 10 weeks old, his entire family moved to Brenham, Texas and this became what he has always referred to as home. After graduating with the Brenham High School Class of 2009 Zach continued his education at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma on a soccer scholarship. Zach played for 2 years before returning to Texas and continuing his education at Sam Houston State University in the field of psychology and education.
As a wanderer, Zachary lived life to the fullest. He never met a stranger, made lifelong friends wherever he landed, and had so many talents. Those that were fortunate to know him experienced his top talent of always making people laugh, smile and love everyone he met unconditionally.
Zach's family was his life. He always wanted to know what was happening with everyone, what Padre was cooking for supper and asked about his niece, Polly, all the time. While Polly was the apple of his eye, Darla, his beloved pocket pit, was part of his heart. Darwa as she was normally called would jump up to greet him, they would roll around, share doggy kisses and bear hugs. Darwa was his nonhuman best friend. Zach included childhood friends in his definition of family as well. Friends that he grew up with, friends that have stood by each other, friends from his life’s journey and friends made through work. "Once a friend, always a friend and friends for life!”
Leaving to mourn are his parents Tom and Fran Gore, better known as Madre and Padre, his oldest brother and sister-in-law Kris and Jennifer Gore, and niece, Polly Louise, and older brother Jason Gore. Zachary will be missed by his aunts and uncles, Kay Strauss (Godmother), Elba Ahrens Collins, Bobby and Sharon Ahrens, Amy Ahrens Zingery, Paul and Patty Ahrens, Alice and Stephen Young, Ann and John Goodman, and Mary Ahrens Griffin, Marta Gore and Nina and Kyle Brookshier. He will also be missed by his many cousins and friends who he enjoyed spending time with.
Zach is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Margaret Gore, and maternal grandparents, Bob and Polly Ahrens, his Godfather, Uncle Fred Strauss, Uncle Thomas Pryor Gore, cousins Jeffery Ahrens, Justin Strauss and Norman Collins.
The family is grateful for all the prayers, blessings and notes received from friends and family during this time.
